Introduction
This is a large-scale outdoor children’s playground designed as an all-inclusive activity space for kids aged 2–12. The project required a multi-zone EPDM flooring system in three coordinated colors, featuring custom game graphics and activity paths. The core requirements were excellent impact absorption, slip resistance, and UV stability to support safe play in all weather conditions. The client, a public park developer, prioritized long-term durability to withstand heavy foot traffic, consistent color matching with the nature-inspired design, and a low-maintenance solution suitable for public use.
Our ApproacH
We developed a tailored solution using our Safixland Eco Series (ideal for public and community playgrounds):
Custom Color & Path Design: We precisely formulated three nature-inspired colors—vibrant green, warm orange, and light yellow—to define activity zones and paths. We ensured consistent color batches and sharp definition for all game graphics and text markings.
Safe & Cost-Effective Material Selection: We recommended 1-3.5mm EPDM granules (15% rubber content, ROHS/REACH compliant) paired with our aliphatic PU binder. This combination delivers reliable shock absorption, slip resistance, and anti-yellowing performance, perfectly balanced for public children’s areas.
Construction & Technical Support: We provided detailed installation guidelines for multi-color zone work, including mixing ratios, curing conditions, and on-site tips to prevent color bleeding, ensuring clean, crisp lines between zones and graphics.
Long-Term Durability Assurance: The Eco Series system is designed to resist fading, cracking, and wear, maintaining its bright colors and safety performance with minimal maintenance for years, even under heavy public use.
WHAT WE DID
• Delivered the custom-colored Safixland Eco Series EPDM granules on schedule, supporting the construction timeline without delays.
• The finished flooring achieved a smooth, seamless multi-zone surface with sharp, clear game graphics and path markings, perfectly bringing the all-inclusive playground design to life.
• The EPDM surface provides excellent shock absorption and slip resistance, creating a safe play environment for children using slides, climbing structures, and other play equipment.
• The client was highly satisfied with the color consistency, durability, and cost-effectiveness of our Eco Series materials, noting the playground has become a popular and well-used public facility.
